Angel Janes from Salt Lake City was driving home when she realised a man on the freeway next to a sign looking for money or a job. A woman stopped to help the man and saw a small Chihuahua puppy sitting on his lap and a man carefully wrapping him in a blanket. Angel handed the man her cigarette, after which he asked her if she could find a good home for this dog.
This man’s name is Ron and he is homeless. He saw a car braking on the side of the road, and the man threw the dog straight from the car into the road. Ron thought that the dog would fall under the wheel. “I haven’t talked to him in a long time, but I was deeply moved by his noble deeds,” says Angel. “He said he didn’t want his dog to be homeless like him.”
Angel posted the story of Ron and Chihuahua on her Facebook page, and all her friends, including Kathleen Dallman, saw her. “She offered the man $50 as a token of her gratitude for finding Ron and the dog and keeping the Chihuahua and his safety. At first he refused to accept money. “I just want to do the right thing for her,” he said. But they really insisted and he took the money. Then he started to cry. Soon found her a good owner. Chesity Guyer and her daughter took her.
Kathleen Dallman couldn’t stop thinking about this guy and held a fundraising event for him on GoFundMe. In a short time they raised over $400 and Kathleen brought them to Ron. “He wept over the money. He could not believe that society was helping him. When I gave him the money, he wanted to give some of the money to help the Chihuahua.
But I told him I had everything she needed.” Ron told Kathleen how she lost her job during these difficult times and is looking for a full-time job again. According to Ron, he wants to spend money on his cell phone to call potential employers.
