As we have seen from different stories, the reality shows that there is no love stronger than the love of a mother. Winters in Minnesota are harsh, with sub-zero temperatures and heavy snowfall. Because of the very low temperatures this is not a comfortable place for stray dogs, especially for a dog with six puppies such as in our story.
The mother dog struggled to survive and protect her lovely little puppies. Unfortunately, they were in need of shelter and food. With nowhere to go, Mom dug a hole in a snowdrift and wrapped herself around her puppies just to take care of them and protect them from the cold weather. Fortunately, a family spotted the dogs and rushed to help them.
The dogs were rescued just in time as their mother stopped producing milk and the three week old puppies were starving. Rescuers believe Snowbell, as she was later named, gave birth to her puppies in the snow. And it is a miracle that they survived. Usually it is really difficult for the little dogs to survive in such situations.
“After a few days of warm shelter and good food, Snowbell began to give her children plenty of milk,” said the rescuer. The puppies grew quickly and were given up for adoption. Four puppies were immediately taken to loving homes.
This story once again shows that mothers love their babies unconditionally and they are able to do whatever it takes to keep them safe and sound. It does not stand only for humans but for animals too. Such an inspiring story.
